Arbor is a Latin word for Tree and we thought that it would be a great title for the Company’s Tree planting event. In some countries, Arbor day is a holiday where everyone is planting trees but in LegalMatch Philippines (LMPH), it is a day where some of its employees get out of the four walls of the office and visit a remote area to get in touch with nature.
The event took place last June 25, 2018 at Barangay Buot in Cebu City. Nineteen employees went out of their way to participate in the Reforestation program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
LMPH joined other companies in celebrating the 55th year of Philippine Forestry Service of DENR called “Intayon Agmula, Tara na at Magtanim ” program of the Cebu City government. The tree planting activity was a no walk in the park experience. It was more of a mountaineering experience as everyone worked their way up the mountains to plant the seeds provided. Everyone was all sweaty but it was worth it as everyone had fun doing it. It’s always a nice experience to get in touch with nature once in a while.
At the end of the day, it was not just a Tree planting activity. It was more of a treat for everyone to see the beautiful sights of the river, the cool mountain breeze, and the unforgettable hanging bridge that made everyone scream when it gets shaken.
Truly you do not experience these things everyday and you can’t help but be thankful for the gift of life. It makes you appreciate the joy of being together with people who share the same values of helping mother earth regain its bounty.
